Victoria Institute of Forensic Medicine

SPACEUBE provided a temporary cool room to be used by Victoria Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) as a temporary morgue during permanent facility upgrades to VIFM’s existing infrastructure. SPACECUBE was chosen due to the ability to be able to provide a similar solution to the existing permanent facilities. SPACECUBE designed and delivered this structure in line with National Construction Code (NCC) requirements while being able to be reused post the use period, providing a sustainable building solution. The alternatives for the client were refrigerated containers providing operational challenges or a permanent build which was prohibitive in terms of cost and waste. The cool room was built using four cubes, and two mezzanine sections.
